A new display has gone up in the Quad exhibition space. It celebrates the work of the GCSE Textile Design and GCSE Art and Design students. Well done to everyone who contributed to this dynamic display.      

Shibori Dyeing Techniques

Year 9 GCSE Textile Design students have been learning about Shibori dyeing techniques.  Shibori is a Japanese term for methods of dyeing cloth by binding, stitching, folding, twisting, and compressing. The word comes from the verb root shiboru, “to wring, squeeze, press.”
